I discovered Nordic Walking via an internet search for an activity which could help me get back to fitness after having had an operation. Following my “learn-to” sessions and signing up for a couple of walks I became addicted due to the fact I soon felt my fitness improving and also met so many friendly fellow walkers along the way. Sylvia then suggested training to become a Walk Leader which took some persuading as I have never been particularly comfortable with “being in charge” but the group is so friendly and inclusive that I thought “why not” and have never looked back. I now lead midweek walks which can vary in size depending on a number of factors such as time of year, weather and day – however, we always catch up over a coffee afterwards and I arrive home smiling and feeling energised. Can’t recommend Nordic Walking highly enough !
